Approach
Katherine works closely with her clients, often visiting the client in their home to form a relationship and visual understanding with the client. Katherine creates  bespoke fabrics and interior products for domestic and commercial spaces. She is passionate about creating products that enjoy a long life and comfort the user, providing a strong visual and tactile experience.

Materials
Pre loved and vintage textiles are used to create patchworks and can be from Katherine's collection of textiles or a client own unwanted or treasured textiles. A mixture of recycled or certified organic fiber waddings are used when quilting.

Process and designs
All patchwork fabrics are hand made and often intuitively pieced together as the fabric grows. These hand crafted elements mixed with the found nature of the fabrics used, means each piece will be unique. Clients are invited to choose from one of Katherine's existing designs or equally she is happy to respond visually to a clients personal inspirations or brief.

Quilts
Clients are encouraged to supply their own fabrics for quilts, from pre loved garments to special items which hold memories such as Wedding's dresses and children's clothes or your Grandmother's old clothes and linens. These item can then be transformed in one of Katherine's geometric patchworks or a design developed with the client where certain aspects of the clothing hold visual memory. When supplied fabrics do not fill the required size, carefully considered 'anonymous' found textiles are included in the design.
Katherine is also happy to take quilt commissions using her own collection of textiles and patchwork designs.

Upholstery
Found chairs are re up-holstered in Katherine's fabrics. Clients are invited to choose from a range of Katherine's collected chairs or supply their own. Colour swatches from Katherine's available fabrics will be provided to the client choose from, to form the patchwork design. Limitations can occur for large scale seating when there is not always enough of one fabric for the design. However when this occurs Katherine is able to offer a number of design solutions, from aesthetically mixing fabrics to clean dye techniques (exhaust dyeing). Upholstery is completed outside of Katherine's studio by a local upholsterer who she work closely with.
